Introduction

The LitePedal clutch eases the shifting process for drivers by minimizing pedal effort. This high-tech design incorporates the Long Travel Damper (LTD™) clutch disc design, which is engineered to perform with today's high torque/low RPM diesel engines.

The LitePedal clutch is available in a full range of torque capacities up to 2,050 lb-ft for use in low, medium and high horsepower ranges.

Cleaner burning engines with higher cylinder compression continue to evolve. As a result, flywheel vibratory accelerations are also increasing in magnitude causing greater vibration through the drivetrain. The patented Pre-Damper clutch helps provide more sophisticated drivetrain vibration isolation.

During the 1990s, long travel (or soft damper) clutch disc designs became standard equipment on heavy duty trucks. Today, clutch design is even more advanced. But, for owners of vehicles from what is known as the “transition period”, a clutch replacement dilemma could exist. Having had their drivetrains subjected to substandard vibration dampening since the vehicle was new, they are faced with a dilemma during clutch replacement.

ArvinMeritor has provided one potential solution with the availability of the Sachs Soft-Damper Service Clutch Discs. These clutch discs are one of a kind – the only soft damper in existence with compatibility to the early model flywheels. They fit new and older flywheels with bores as small as 7.5”.

The Twin XTend™ was designed to deliver the lowest operating cost-per-mile clutch. With patented Self-Adjust technology, no adjustments are ever needed; pedal effort is kept consistently low, and constant clamp load prevents slippage even under the roughest conditions.
