OnGuard™ is the first commercial vehicle Collision Safety System with Active Braking. The system automatically maintains a safe following distance and helps avoid or reduce the impact of rear-end collisions by braking as needed.It is fully integrated with Meritor WABCO ABS and Stability Control Systems Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and works in conjunction with the company’s Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Roll Stability Control (RSC) and Automatic Traction Control (ATC). OnGuard™

OnGuard™ uses forward-looking radar sensor technology featuring advanced algorithms to monitor the distance to the moving vehicle ahead. When OnGuard™ detects that a potential collision is developing, it sends audible and visual warnings through an in-cab dash display so the driver is alerted to take appropriate corrective action.

Features & Benefits
Active Braking can energize brakes prior to driver demand – when unsafe distances are detected – reducing the time to achieve proper braking pressure. This reaction time reduction can help the driver to either prevent a collision or greatly reduce its impact.
OnGuard is so smart, it sees around curves OnGuard radar sensor technology uses an internal gyro to detect a curve approaching and adjusts the radar beam as necessary to see objects around the bend.
